libcrypt-mysql-perl software package provides Perl module to emulate the MySQL PASSWORD() function, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcrypt-mysql-perl
libcrypt-mysql-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcrypt-mysql-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcrypt-mysql-perl *
You will get with libcrypt-mysql-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
